[Mod post] Blog closure

Hi Addicts!

As you may have noticed, I no longer have the time to update this blog regularly, so rather than keep you all hanging, I have decided to close it and no longer post any reviews.

You can still stay in the lolly loop by following the Facebook page by searching for 'Lolly Addict Australia' where I'll be updating about new releases.

Thanks for your understanding, and I hope you will all follow me over to Facebook!

Capricorn Mallow Moments Salted Caramel

Late last year, Australian brand Capricorn put out their new range of marshmallows with a twist, called Mallow Moments. I've been slowly working my way through the different flavours. So far we've looked at Strawberry Pavlova, and today we'll be taking a peek at Salted Caramel.

Tic Tac Mojito Mint

I am amazing at how Ferrero are able to continually come up with new flavours for their limited edition products. One of their newest (and I think cleverest) is Mojito Mint, based off the cocktail made from a combination of white rum, fresh mint, sugar, lime juice and sparkling water.

Mars M&M's Toffee Apple

Mars are continuing their fruit theme of late (M&M's Pineapple and Pods Raspberries and Cream) with another totally unexpected combination: M&M's Toffee Apple. Have they hit it out of the park?

Nestle Kit Kat Choc Whirl

Choc Whirl is a new variety of Kit Kat, the world-famous chocolate block and bar from Nestle. Unlike its brother Choc Mint Whirl, Choc Whirl is only available in the large 170g block (whereas you can find Choc Mint in the block and medium and king size bars). They were released together a few months back. I also believe Choc Whirl is unique to Australia as well.

Mars Pods Raspberries and Cream

I love Pods. I want to hug whatever genius came up with these crunchy little nuggets of delight. They're unique to anything else on the market, with that crunchy biscuit cup filled with deliciousness. And yet they don't seem to get a lot of love, or a huge advertising budget. But Mars continue to roll out new flavours for our crunchy bitesize biscuits, for which I am grateful! Raspberries and Cream is our next new seasonal flavour, following the crumb trail left by its cousin Cookies and Cream.

Lindt HELLO Sweet Popcorn

Lindt and Sprungli launched their HELLO range back in 2013, a selection of bars, blocks and gift sets based around four flavour combinations: Crunchy Nougat, Strawberry Cheesecake, Caramel Brownie and Cookies & Cream. Just recently they announced two additional flavours to join the range: Dark Chocolate Cookie and Sweet Popcorn. Today we'll look at the latter.

Lindt Excellence Raspberry Intense

The newest addition by Lindt and Sprungli to the Excellence 100g chocolate block range is another fruit flavour: Raspberry.

[Mod post] Changing frequency

Hi addicts!

Due to starting a new job I will have to change the frequency of reviews from twice a week down to once a week, released on Tuesdays. Gossip posts will be released as I get the info and they won't be affected by the change of frequency.

As always, you can find out about new posts and other fun things I find online on the blog's Facebook page and follow our Twitter account.

Mentos Grape Mix

Stewart Alexander, the distributors of Mentos in Australia, timed the release of this new flavour to coincide with a new packaging format called 'Tear and Share'. It was originally limited to just the Grape Mix flavour, but has since rolled out in the Very Berry flavour combo. I wanted to pick one up for the blog but they were sold out, so I went with the traditional roll instead.

Lindt Excellence Zest of Lime

While in the last few weeks, Lindt has exploded with new flavours across many of their subranges, I'm still struggling to catch up! A new addition to the ever-expanding Excellence range, Zest of Lime was released mid-last year.

Snickers Limited Edition Xtreme Caramel

The 2014 limited edition version of the Snickers bar from Mars is a play on a Mars bar LE we saw recently; caramel, caramel and more caramel. Xtreme Caramel does away with the nougat layer and replaces it with more caramel.

Gossip: new M&M's, new Pods and new Mentos!

Another month and the new releases just keep on rolling! There are some really exciting ones this time around, so read on and keep an eye on those shelves!

Nestle Kit Kat Choc Mint Whirl

It tickles me pink when Australia gets something new in the confectionery world. Fellow lolly lovers from other countries tend to explode on Twitter. Even though it's not aimed at me, I still feel pretty special!

It's even more special when one of the new products is a new flavour of Kit Kat bar, a confectionery item with dozens of reiterations (and that's just in Japan). Choc Mint Whirl (and its brother Choc Whirl) are both new to the world of Kit Kat.

Snickers Limited Edition Almond

Here I am, running behind again! I originally announced the 2014 Snickers limited edition back in June last year (has it really been that long?). Contrary to my note in the Gossip post, Australia has actually seen Snickers Almond on its shelves before - it was released back in 2011. Mars and other confectionery companies do like to repeat their most popular limited editions, often as a part of market research that could see the flavour introduced to the regular line-up.

Menz Caramel Honeycomb

It's not often I get to review a wholly Australian brand. Menz, short for Robern Menz, has manufactured confectionery in Australia since 1892 (though the brand produced other products from as early as 1850) - now that's a pretty impressive record!

Sunday 1 February 2015

Wonka Mudpuff Caramelstuff

(It's been way too hot here in Perth to blog, so sorry for the radio silence. Today is only 33°C, so I can comfortably look at some lollies without it melting in my hands!)

Way back in August, Nestle's subbrand Wonka released a new flavour of their chocolate block to coincide with their Golden Ticket promotion they were running at the time.

Saturday 24 January 2015

Mentos Tutti Frutti

Stewart Alexander seem to be upping the frequency of imported Mentos flavours here in Australia. Tutti Frutti is an international flavour that has been available overseas for some time, but only made the jump to our island mid-late last year.

Tuesday 20 January 2015

Cadbury Dairy Milk Crackle

Gosh, I am getting slack! Cadbury debuted five new block flavours way back in May of last year. I managed to review Cherry Ripe and Strawberries and Cream, but the remaining three - Picnic, Crackle and Toffee Crisp were sadly forgotten. Until now! Crackle has made its way to the front of the review pile, so even though this limited edition flavour is no longer available, let's take a look!

Haribo Turtles

The Haribo gummi domination of Australia continues with the introduction of these cuties: Turtles.

Capricorn Mallow Moments Strawberry Pavlova

Back in October I spotted a new range from Australian brand Capricorn, a company best known for its licorice range. They have branched out somewhat and turned their attention to covered marshmallows, a market that includes very few products. (In 2012, Pascal released a range of chocolate-covered flavoured marshmallows.) Capricorn seem to have accepted the challenge of expanding the area, and have introduced three new flavours of covered marshmallows. We're taking a first look at the range with Strawberry Pavlova.

[Mod Post]: I'm back!

Two weeks accidentally turned into four, but I can promise we'll be back to your regular blogging schedule! Thanks for your patience.

I hope all of my readers had a wonderful holiday season, and I wish you all a safe and joyous new year.
