<br />
As you may have noticed, I no longer have the time to update this blog regularly, so rather than keep you all hanging, I have decided to close it and no longer post any reviews.<br />
<br />
You can still stay in the lolly loop by following the Facebook page by searching for <a href="https://www.facebook.com/LollyAddict?fref=ts" target="_blank">'Lolly Addict Australia' </a>where I'll be updating about new releases.<br />
<br />

I've been slowly working my way through the different flavours. So far we've looked at <a href="http://lollyaddict.blogspot.com.au/2015/01/capricorn-mallow-moments-strawberry.html" target="_blank">Strawberry Pavlova</a>, and today we'll be taking a peek at Salted Caramel.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BLi-8AwT4h0/VUdMQhA7ZjI/AAAAAAAAEA0/DTg8gu9UP9Y/s1600/capricorn-mallowsaltcrml1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BLi-8AwT4h0/VUdMQhA7ZjI/AAAAAAAAEA0/DTg8gu9UP9Y/s320/capricorn-mallowsaltcrml1.jpg" width="217" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
The bag is gold-toned, echoing the warm brown colour of caramel. Like Strawberry Pavlova, the bag is surprisingly full. Its contents have a pleasing chocolate and burnt sugar scent that's not too sweet. Salted Caramel is one of the two flavours in the range that uses milk chocolate as the covering (the other is Crunchy Mocha). To complete the outer coating, the chocolate is liberally dotted with pieces of salted caramel. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p3lIv_-tpvs/VUdMRHialBI/AAAAAAAAEA4/N47104RTIB0/s1600/capricorn-mallowsaltcrml2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p3lIv_-tpvs/VUdMRHialBI/AAAAAAAAEA4/N47104RTIB0/s320/capricorn-mallowsaltcrml2.jpg" width="230" /></a></div>
<br />
Each piece is about 3cm wide by about 2.5cm tall, enough for a mouthful without being overwhelming. The coating of salted caramel pieces is quite firmly attached to the chocolate, and while there are some loose in the bag, it's not as many as I was expecting. The little pieces are surprisingly strong in their flavour. They have good caramel notes, but are sweeter than what I was expecting for salted caramel. I also don't think they are made from actual caramel, but they seem to be little balls of flavoured sugar.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rQjug5bsQNk/VUdMQzcCdBI/AAAAAAAAEA8/G8WSgfLfxm4/s1600/capricorn-mallowsaltcrml3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="124" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rQjug5bsQNk/VUdMQzcCdBI/AAAAAAAAEA8/G8WSgfLfxm4/s320/capricorn-mallowsaltcrml3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It's quite hard to taste the marshmallow without getting the outside included, but I shouldn't have bothered. The marshmallow itself has barely any flavour at all - which isn't such a bad thing when you consider how much flavour the dots on the outside contain. Eaten altogether, the dots more than make up for the marshmallow's lack of flavour. They and the chocolate coating provide a sweet, crunchy texture juxtaposition against the soft, bouncy marshmallow. Admittedly, there isn't a whole lot of salt that I can taste, but perhaps it is just overpowered by the other flavours. There should be some presence, though - salt is the third ingredient in the list for the dots.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GMeNRqiDAMo/VUdMR9hfVJI/AAAAAAAAEBE/Tyepzh1uq0Q/s1600/capricorn-mallowsaltcrml4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="181" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GMeNRqiDAMo/VUdMR9hfVJI/AAAAAAAAEBE/Tyepzh1uq0Q/s320/capricorn-mallowsaltcrml4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Caramel and chocolate are a perfectly acceptable combination in my book, with or without the trendy addition of salt. I'll easily demolish this bag.<br />

One of their newest (and I think cleverest) is Mojito Mint, based off the cocktail made from a combination of white rum, fresh mint, sugar, lime juice and sparkling water.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FFqqpfA1qPY/VUdGCiXsvUI/AAAAAAAAEAU/FJuHhBGT_pk/s1600/tictac-mojito1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FFqqpfA1qPY/VUdGCiXsvUI/AAAAAAAAEAU/FJuHhBGT_pk/s320/tictac-mojito1.jpg" width="218" /></a></div>

<br />
The description tells me they are on track at least, describing these new Tic Tacs as 'mint and lime flavoured mints'. Even if 'mint-flavoured mints' makes me giggle a bit. The illustrations on the front depict mint leaves and wedges of lime, so we are looking pretty good.<br />
<br />
Each little mint is coloured either in a soft baby green, or an olive green. The later are lime (colour drawn from the colour of the rind), and the former mint (as a soft green is usually called mint green). The packet, when opened, has a mild mint scent, and the light green pieces have an equally mild flavour at first. What I love about these pieces is how true to real mint flavour they are. There's no artificial notes here; it tastes all natural, complete with the soothing natural coolness on the tongue. There is a mild touch of sugar, and the flavour is not extraordinarily strong, but these mints are really minty!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--9h80hHvuPI/VUdGCx9gc-I/AAAAAAAAEAY/pYhCgQqn238/s1600/tictac-mojito2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--9h80hHvuPI/VUdGCx9gc-I/AAAAAAAAEAY/pYhCgQqn238/s320/tictac-mojito2.jpg" width="222" /></a></div>
<br />
The lime pieces don't reveal their true flavour until they are chewed. Like real limes, they are tangy almost to the point of face-scrunching, but not quite. Interestingly, these pieces also contain mint, which I wasn't expecting (even though it's in the name, duh). The lime flavour doesn't hang around long, leaving a much more intense mint flavour in its wake. Eaten together, the lime is quick to overpower the mint piece, but the two types of mint intermingle nicely for a mouth of freshness. Colour me surprised, but these make a pretty good case for mojito flavour!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cgrKDvGTG2E/VUdGDLWss6I/AAAAAAAAEAc/DXFO3_uLiKg/s1600/tictac-mojito3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="160" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cgrKDvGTG2E/VUdGDLWss6I/AAAAAAAAEAc/DXFO3_uLiKg/s320/tictac-mojito3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Unlike some other flavours of Tic Tac I've reviewed, these are still definitely mints. The lime pieces don't do much for me, but I could demolish a box of the mint ones by themselves. Together they do taste like the cocktail (minus the alcohol unfortunately) and now I'm longing for summer. I'd love to know if the mint pieces contained natural peppermint oil.<br />

Have they hit it out of the park?<br />

<a name='more'></a><br />Like any self-respecting child, I had a somewhat grudging like for toffee apples, but was far more enthusiastic about the artificial toffee apple flavour found across assorted confectionery (Nestle, if you're reading, please send me a box of <a href="http://www.sanza.co.uk/pics/wonka_toffee_apple_bag.jpg" target="_blank">Wonka Toffee Apple Bars</a>, stat). These days, the real version is long gone from our supermarket fruit and veg section, but the flavour lives on in the lolly aisle. Mars have added M&M's Toffee Apple to their repertoire of interesting limited edition flavours as we say goodbye to the last LE, Pineapple.<br />
<br />
(Before we go on, I must acknowledge the likely fact that this is an imported flavour recipe from our friends in the states. There, Mars releases seasonal flavours for the autumn/Halloween time, and last year they had Candy Apple making its debut. Candy apple is the north American phrase for what we would call a toffee apple, so although these M&M's are made in Australia, it's quite likely the flavour recipe is similar to the Candy Apple version in the states. Now on with the review!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AlWmrxI9c2s/VUdAuBsJ-KI/AAAAAAAAEAA/wAXJkzBu4qg/s1600/mars-mmstoffeeapple2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AlWmrxI9c2s/VUdAuBsJ-KI/AAAAAAAAEAA/wAXJkzBu4qg/s320/mars-mmstoffeeapple2.jpg" width="252" /></a></div>
<br />
The bag carries a distinctive green, pink and baby yellow colour theme, all colours that go with apples (sort of). The front features an illustration of Miss Green covering Red in toffee (doesn't that sound a bit dirty?) while he is dressed like an apple. The description on the reverse describes the contents as 'bitesize pieces of toffee apple flavoured chocolate covered in a thin crisp shell'. Not too inspiring.<br />
<br />
The pieces themselves are coloured in light green, red and a dark coral pink. Opening the bag reveals a very strong, very sweet scent that isn't either very toffeeish or appleish. It's the typical sweet Mars chocolate and sugar shell scent with a very pink, floral note. As the description indicated, the shell is not flavoured; it's just sweet sugar. The chocolate, of course, is where all the flavour lies. And what an interesting flavour it is.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jC2ho8w-PoU/VUdAtjQSTKI/AAAAAAAAD_8/qjmtAmd5K5I/s1600/mars-mmstoffeeapple3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jC2ho8w-PoU/VUdAtjQSTKI/AAAAAAAAD_8/qjmtAmd5K5I/s320/mars-mmstoffeeapple3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
First there's an insanely sweet note of mildly caramelised sugar, followed by an intense wallop of artificial apple. As the scent indicated, these are very strong in flavour; I'm eating them singly for writing this review. The artificial apple is interesting; beneath the sweetness there's a mild red apple tang, and it actually reminds me a lot of the Wonka Toffee Apple Bars I mentioned above (totally accidental). Some might find the flavour slightly medicinal. Sucking these little pieces is not recommended; chewing them crunches the sugar shell and provides a bit of a buffer against the strong flavour of the centre.<br />
<br />
I wasn't totally sold on them at first, but I have to admit they are growing on me a little. The strength of the flavour has lessened with exposure, and who knows, I might actually finish the bag!<br />

Unlike its brother <a href="http://lollyaddict.blogspot.com.au/2015/02/nestle-kit-kat-choc-mint-whirl.html" target="_blank">Choc Mint Whirl</a>, Choc Whirl is only available in the large 170g block (whereas you can find Choc Mint in the block and medium and king size bars). They were released together a few months back. I also believe Choc Whirl is unique to Australia as well.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
It appears that the two varieties are actually very similar, with the only discernible difference being the lack of green colouring, and the mint flavour. Not that that is a bad thing - the swirls of white and milk choc are rather mesmerising to look at, and better looking that the green and milk combo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cf4D6Ox6JWY/VS42irVOHCI/AAAAAAAAD-g/Sykg7__1zGQ/s1600/nes-kitkatchocwhirl2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cf4D6Ox6JWY/VS42irVOHCI/AAAAAAAAD-g/Sykg7__1zGQ/s1600/nes-kitkatchocwhirl2.jpg" height="320" width="166" /></a></div>
<br />
The bar itself is quite sweetly scented, and seems to have a little praline note, though it contains no hazelnuts. The design is classic Kit Kat, with thin layers of wafer separated by a cream, and then covered in milk chocolate, with the decorative 'white choc' swirls across the top.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O8SWPB0M-tU/VS42jI_Fj_I/AAAAAAAAD-o/of_MB3jeSa8/s1600/nes-kitkatchocwhirl3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O8SWPB0M-tU/VS42jI_Fj_I/AAAAAAAAD-o/of_MB3jeSa8/s1600/nes-kitkatchocwhirl3.jpg" height="152" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Like classic Kit Kat, it is, well, classic. Aside from the appearance, there isn't much to discern it from the original; I couldn't taste much of a difference. At least the Choc Mint Whirl had the flavour working in its favour; Choc Whirl is a bit uninspired. But hey, it still tastes good!<br />

I want to hug whatever genius came up with these crunchy little nuggets of delight. They're unique to anything else on the market, with that crunchy biscuit cup filled with deliciousness. And yet they don't seem to get a lot of love, or a huge advertising budget. But Mars continue to roll out new flavours for our crunchy bitesize biscuits, for which I am grateful! Raspberries and Cream is our next new seasonal flavour, following the crumb trail left by its cousin <a href="http://lollyaddict.blogspot.com/2014/03/mars-pods-cookies-and-cream.html" target="_blank">Cookies and Cream</a>.<br />

<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Raspberries and Cream, is I guess a slightly different take on the somewhat boring, albeit classic, strawberries and cream flavour that confectionery manufacturers love to trot out. (Who eats strawberries with cream anyway?) So kudos to Mars for going <i>slightly</i> outside the box. The ingredients list doesn't mention specific flavours but I'll hazard a guess that it's all artificial, so I'm not expecting mind-blowing accuracy on the flavour.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7_L2I6QLCd4/VR_DZ04jozI/AAAAAAAAD9s/NwrP4-nxXrg/s1600/mars-podsraspcrm2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7_L2I6QLCd4/VR_DZ04jozI/AAAAAAAAD9s/NwrP4-nxXrg/s1600/mars-podsraspcrm2.jpg" height="320" width="262" /></a></div>
<br />
The Pods themselves are their usual good bite-size selves, topped off with a thin layer of milk chocolate. The flavoured centre is cradled by the crispy wafer. It, by itself, doesn't have much flavour, but serves to present the other components well. The milk chocolate is mild but sweet. Most of its flavour is overtaken by the centre.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M8Aeq6w2A34/VR_DaaTdyOI/AAAAAAAAD9w/7zbJehadJ-s/s1600/mars-podsraspcrm3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M8Aeq6w2A34/VR_DaaTdyOI/AAAAAAAAD9w/7zbJehadJ-s/s1600/mars-podsraspcrm3.jpg" height="174" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The filling itself is a medium rose pink in colour. It's firm, with a smooth texture like fondant. Its flavour is rather floral, with a hint of berry that is less sweeter than what strawberry would be, but without the big tang a real raspberry would have. It's a bit milkshakey. It's a decidedly <i>girly</i> flavour. The chocolate and wafer give it life, the wafer adding lovely crunchy texture, and the chocolate good depth that supports the floral centre and balances it out a bit.<br />
<br />

<br />
I can't imagine this being too popular with the gents, but it was nice enough for me! They did become a bit throat-searingly sweet after a handful, so just watch out for that if you tend to devour the bag accidentally like me.<br />

Just recently they announced two additional flavours to join the range: Dark Chocolate Cookie and Sweet Popcorn. Today we'll look at the latter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XxhW_Nb-mRc/VQ62CSIweeI/AAAAAAAAD8w/69pIh2ELfEU/s1600/lindt-hellopopcorn1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XxhW_Nb-mRc/VQ62CSIweeI/AAAAAAAAD8w/69pIh2ELfEU/s1600/lindt-hellopopcorn1.jpg" height="70" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
As Lindt is wont to do, this particular flavour combination is unusual and unique; it's one you're more likely to see from a specialist or small-time chocolate maker than a large corporation. Kudos to them for jumping in! Sweet Popcorn combines not just pieces of popcorn but also a 'choc-cream' into a filling inside a 30% cocoa milk chocolate outer. The package uses a red foil highlight on the ends, but the name alternates red and white to match the red and white-striped bucket of popcorn imagery on the front.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lZhhICdLTLQ/VQ62Cll8M6I/AAAAAAAAD80/Fz6j1PuLNDk/s1600/lindt-hellopopcorn2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lZhhICdLTLQ/VQ62Cll8M6I/AAAAAAAAD80/Fz6j1PuLNDk/s1600/lindt-hellopopcorn2.jpg" height="104" width="320" /></a></div>
The bar is a tiny 39g, but as with other bars in the HELLO range, is long and skinny to appear bigger. The moulding is the same as for the other bars, with each well-defined block featuring images from the range's advertising: hearts, lips, and the Lindt and HELLO logos. It's divided into six pieces, each a smallish bitesize piece. The outer chocolate is Lindt's famous milk chocolate; it smells creamy and sweet, without any trace of its contents.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3Bdg7wHPHuo/VQ62OFBCSFI/AAAAAAAAD9A/NKCsyJsuu34/s1600/lindt-hellopopcorn3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3Bdg7wHPHuo/VQ62OFBCSFI/AAAAAAAAD9A/NKCsyJsuu34/s1600/lindt-hellopopcorn3.jpg" height="70" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Biting into a piece reveals a soft truffle-like centre, similar in colour to the outer milk chocolate. It's studded with small, crunchy pieces of popcorn. Only chewing the piece makes the popcorn reveal its strong flavour. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't buttered popcorn flavour! It adds a strong, savory and salty note to the sweet centre. Lindt have absolutely used real popcorn in the creation of this bar and it shows in the flavour. The popcorn pieces are fresh with varying texture as you would find in a bucket of real popcorn; some of it is crunchy, some more spongy and then some hard pieces.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Hz7ptSIId8I/VQ62OCl_C-I/AAAAAAAAD9E/LRM6ych1MzM/s1600/lindt-hellopopcorn4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Hz7ptSIId8I/VQ62OCl_C-I/AAAAAAAAD9E/LRM6ych1MzM/s1600/lindt-hellopopcorn4.jpg" height="237" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The flavour took me a little while to get used to. I like sea salt in my chocolate, but the butter adds another dimension I'm not 100% comfortable with. The milk chocolate is lovely and it kind of reduces the strength of the popcorn flavour, but not by a lot. Team the flavour with crunchy bits and I don't think this bar is for me. Credit to Lindt for being innovative and playful with their flavours. I'm sure someone will love it!<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-henzxYKD8xo/VP2NIpXordI/AAAAAAAAD8I/Qn5GidHHfIw/s1600/lindt-exrasp1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-henzxYKD8xo/VP2NIpXordI/AAAAAAAAD8I/Qn5GidHHfIw/s1600/lindt-exrasp1.jpg" height="320" width="184" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Like its newly-reviewed relative Zest of Lime, Raspberry is simply chocolate and fruit - no slivered almonds as we've seen in some of the other blocks in this range. The 47% cocoa chocolate is on the lighter end of dark chocolate, making it accessible to most people (whereas darker grades tend to have a smaller market of chocolate aficionados). The raspberry in this block is pieces of freeze-dried fruit, making up 1% of the block.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FTcf82y5pd8/VP2NI57amhI/AAAAAAAAD8Q/QvShLNDlPHY/s1600/lindt-exrasp2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FTcf82y5pd8/VP2NI57amhI/AAAAAAAAD8Q/QvShLNDlPHY/s1600/lindt-exrasp2.jpg" height="320" width="161" /></a></div>
<br />
The block itself has a pleasing warm reddish tinge to it, and is smooth on the top while the reverse is spotted with lots of little fruit pieces. It has a strong, jammy scent, slightly sweet but warm and pleasant. It actually smells a bit like Cadbury Cherry Ripe Burst, oddly enough.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TpuPrFeLKdw/VP2NIelhW7I/AAAAAAAAD8E/uVO8hS9VVG0/s1600/lindt-exrasp3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TpuPrFeLKdw/VP2NIelhW7I/AAAAAAAAD8E/uVO8hS9VVG0/s1600/lindt-exrasp3.jpg" height="135" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Snapping the block open reveals pieces of freeze-dried raspberry dotted throughout the thin chocolate piece. They vary in colour from bright red to a darker shade, depending on the area of the berry they were taken from. There isn't as many big pieces as the bumpy reverse would lead you to believe.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xtgnc9bcpys/VP2NJ9ysYRI/AAAAAAAAD8Y/nCjilzIcmFg/s1600/lindt-exrasp4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xtgnc9bcpys/VP2NJ9ysYRI/AAAAAAAAD8Y/nCjilzIcmFg/s1600/lindt-exrasp4.jpg" height="138" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Though the raspberry only takes up 1% of the block, it has a noticeable impact on the profile of the chocolate. From the start it's jammy and warm, gradually moving into the slight bitterness of the high cocoa percentage as the chocolate melts. The small raspberry pieces soften quickly, and when bitten add a burst of sweetness. They are a bit seedy so watch out for catching pieces in your teeth.<br />
<br />
I really enjoyed this block. It reminds me a bit of a recipe I found once for raspberry chocolate brownies; there's that rich chocolate melt complemented by the burst of raspberry.<br />

<br />
Due to starting a new job I will have to change the frequency of reviews from twice a week down to once a week, released on Tuesdays. Gossip posts will be released as I get the info and they won't be affected by the change of frequency.<br />
<br />
As always, you can find out about new posts and other fun things I find online on the blog's <a href="https://www.facebook.com/LollyAddict" target="_blank">Facebook page</a> and follow our <a href="https://twitter.com/LollyAddict" target="_blank">Twitter account</a>.<br />

It was originally limited to just the Grape Mix flavour, but has since rolled out in the Very Berry flavour combo. I wanted to pick one up for the blog but they were sold out, so I went with the traditional roll instead.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_DFSbmPnnvU/VPPkRyeZ3hI/AAAAAAAAD7Y/TRN6n-anjzY/s1600/mentos-grapemix1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_DFSbmPnnvU/VPPkRyeZ3hI/AAAAAAAAD7Y/TRN6n-anjzY/s1600/mentos-grapemix1.jpg" height="93" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Like we've seen before with other Mentos flavours, Grape Mix is available internationally. The pack contains three different flavours, all based on grapes: white, black and red, which are illustrated on the wrapper. (The <a href="http://lollyaddict.blogspot.com.au/2014/04/mentos-grape.html" target="_blank">Grape limited edition from last year</a> appears to just use black grapes, although the colouring of the actual dragees is different to those in this packet.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T0BAJQcOxN0/VPPkRx8TSsI/AAAAAAAAD7o/imbQeLoIkzs/s1600/mentos-grapemix2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T0BAJQcOxN0/VPPkRx8TSsI/AAAAAAAAD7o/imbQeLoIkzs/s1600/mentos-grapemix2.jpg" height="91" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The flavour distribution is a bit skewiff; I only got three of the light purple pieces, but seven each of the green and pink. The green pieces represent green (or white) grapes, the colour that produces white wine. The shell has a very light, refreshing flavour that gets stronger. It's sweet, along the lines of Grapetiser. The centre has the sharp, dry notes that are very strong, almost overpowering at first before they ease, with a touch of sourness. It's a very bold piece.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-56VxAWSv5qA/VPPkRuWnFlI/AAAAAAAAD7g/0YR281o9sak/s1600/mentos-grapemix3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-56VxAWSv5qA/VPPkRuWnFlI/AAAAAAAAD7g/0YR281o9sak/s1600/mentos-grapemix3.jpg" height="128" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The bright pink pieces are for red grapes. The flavour from the shell is soft, sweet and warm, with a little jamminess. The flavour stays much the same through the centre, only becoming a little stronger with the chew. This was quite pleasant, with a strong aftertaste.<br />
<br />
The soft purple pieces are black grapes. Their flavour is milder, sweet and a little jammy. The grape flavour is spot-on.<br />
<br />
<b>Score: 4.5 out of 5 jelly beans.</b><br />

A new addition to the ever-expanding Excellence range, Zest of Lime was released mid-last year.<br />
<br />
<span id="goog_1571812215"></span><span id="goog_1571812216"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k2ziiVXCQwA/VO--gED6dHI/AAAAAAAAD6U/zmXom6lihyA/s1600/lindt-exlime1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k2ziiVXCQwA/VO--gED6dHI/AAAAAAAAD6U/zmXom6lihyA/s1600/lindt-exlime1.jpg" height="320" width="189" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Like many other flavours in the range, Zest of Lime is built on dark chocolate, although it is not exceptionally dark (by Lindt's standards, anyway). The 100g block uses 47% cocoa solids, only a smidgen up from Cadbury's Old Gold range (at 45% cocoa solids). But unlike some of the other Excellence blocks, this one does not include flaked almonds - it's just dark chocolate and lime zest. The ingredients list is pleasingly short, too, with only seven ingredients.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ygCfWffFSDM/VO--gJIVKJI/AAAAAAAAD6Q/4uXTY2jeiaU/s1600/lindt-exlime2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ygCfWffFSDM/VO--gJIVKJI/AAAAAAAAD6Q/4uXTY2jeiaU/s1600/lindt-exlime2.jpg" height="320" width="188" /></a></div>
<br />
The block has a surprisingly bright and fresh scent to it - the zest gives out quite a fragrance. Curiously, it's rather sweet, but it makes me want to try it all the more! The reverse side of the block is speckled with the bumps of lime, giving it a nice texture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O6V-DPdB-v0/VO--gKnB-GI/AAAAAAAAD6Y/36PfqTFUDQ8/s1600/lindt-exlime3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-O6V-DPdB-v0/VO--gKnB-GI/AAAAAAAAD6Y/36PfqTFUDQ8/s1600/lindt-exlime3.jpg" height="139" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The chocolate has a great melt, smooth and evenly tempered. The flavour is curiously; lots of citrus notes that complement the slightly earthy flavour of the chocolate. Though I couldn't probably pick it as lime, it is refreshing and quite pleasant. The pieces of lime zest, which have been freeze dried, are actually quite large - you can see them in the photo below. As they are so large, they had an immediate presence in the mouth, and I didn't really enjoy their sharp edges interrupting my smooth chocolate experience (but I'm not a huge fan of 'things' in my chocolate anyway). The pieces themselves are kind of like little nubs - some are hard and some can be crunched.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SdIuOYp9rGQ/VO--hBrzr0I/AAAAAAAAD6o/Nbj8Tpf3Emc/s1600/lindt-exlime4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SdIuOYp9rGQ/VO--hBrzr0I/AAAAAAAAD6o/Nbj8Tpf3Emc/s1600/lindt-exlime4.jpg" height="177" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I wasn't expecting this flavour combination to work at all,but again Lindt has come up with another winner. I would just really like to see the removal of the zest so that the smooth mouthfeel can be fully enjoyed.<br />
<br />

Xtreme Caramel does away with the nougat layer and replaces it with more caramel.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sPrfOakA01E/VOmshw1UwOI/AAAAAAAAD5Y/dL72blMJiEk/s1600/mars-snickersxtremecaramel1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sPrfOakA01E/VOmshw1UwOI/AAAAAAAAD5Y/dL72blMJiEk/s1600/mars-snickersxtremecaramel1.jpg" height="109" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Curiously, this same variation has been seen in the US, albeit with a slightly different name - <a href="http://www.candyblog.net/blog/item/snickers_xtreme" target="_blank">Snickers Xtreme</a> vs our Snickers Xtreme Caramel.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6v70G04SMUo/VOmsiuoFgGI/AAAAAAAAD5g/e7s4ImpKgpw/s1600/mars-snickersxtremecaramel2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6v70G04SMUo/VOmsiuoFgGI/AAAAAAAAD5g/e7s4ImpKgpw/s1600/mars-snickersxtremecaramel2.jpg" height="124" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On the outside, Snickers Xtreme Caramel looks very much like its cousin. The scent gives away the difference; where an original Snickers has a savoury, almost salty, peanutty scent, Xtreme Caramel is much sweeter, with only a touch of peanut. The bar weighs in at 48g, 2g lighter than the original. As it has no nougat, it is a bit smaller physically as well, as caramel is more dense.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-01uDcCM27OE/VOmsiS_jlKI/AAAAAAAAD5c/Juhq-PbMaOo/s1600/mars-snickersxtremecaramel3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-01uDcCM27OE/VOmsiS_jlKI/AAAAAAAAD5c/Juhq-PbMaOo/s1600/mars-snickersxtremecaramel3.jpg" height="136" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Without the firm nougat to provide stability, the bar is a bit messy to eat. The caramel is rather sensitive to heat as well, so eat it on too-warm a day and it becomes a stringy caramel mess. The peanuts are distributed all throughout the caramel, and I would hazard a guess that there are more than in the original, too. Surprisingly, the bar is not as sweet as it smells; the higher volume of peanuts is in good proportion to the caramel, easing the potential sweetness. The caramel is rather boring on its own; sweet, with very little burnt sugar notes. It's a pleasant mix, with the chewy caramel and the crunchy, fresh peanuts, and it's quite filling, too. <br />

A new flavour from our favourite bite-size pieces of chocolate is exciting news, even if it is a slightly curious one! M&M's have announced their next limited edition to replace the current <a href="http://lollyaddict.blogspot.com/2014/09/mars-m-pineapple.html" target="_blank">Pineapple</a>, and it is Toffee Apple. Certainly will be interesting to see how these go! I suspect the flavour will be similar, if not the same, as the <a href="http://www.theimpulsivebuy.com/wordpress/2014/08/18/review-candy-apple-milk-chocolate-mms/" target="_blank">US release Candy Apple</a>. (Edit: <a href="https://twitter.com/LollyAddict/status/569393064772399104" target="_blank">Coles has the new flavour</a> on their shelves already!)<br />

Fellow lolly lovers from other countries tend to explode on Twitter. Even though it's not aimed at me, I still feel pretty special!<br />
<br />
It's even more special when one of the new products is a new flavour of Kit Kat bar, a confectionery item with <a href="http://www.itsasickness.com/japanese-kit-kats/content/list-flavors" target="_blank">dozens of reiterations</a> (and that's just in Japan). Choc Mint Whirl (and its brother Choc Whirl) are both new to the world of Kit Kat.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-12X-Ut8TvZk/VNXq7_tuLaI/AAAAAAAAD4o/5LB6GCN0yTs/s1600/nes-kitkatchocmintwhirl1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-12X-Ut8TvZk/VNXq7_tuLaI/AAAAAAAAD4o/5LB6GCN0yTs/s1600/nes-kitkatchocmintwhirl1.jpg" height="138" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Described as 'crispy wafer fingers covered in smooth milk chocolate, topped with creamy swirls of mint choc', the bar itself isn't actually a whole lot different from the original KitKat - it's just the top coating of chocolate has been replaced with a mysterious 'mint choc'. Although it can't be determined from the ingredients list, I'd hazard a guess that the top layer is compound chocolate. Not that you'd notice, of course - the production line has put some impressive squiggles of colour in my mint-green layer. The lines are not as neat as in the illustration on the front, but when are they ever?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Tn7k0g2_B70/VNXq87VtzJI/AAAAAAAAD48/KjvdFUmuUNk/s1600/nes-kitkatchocmintwhirl2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Tn7k0g2_B70/VNXq87VtzJI/AAAAAAAAD48/KjvdFUmuUNk/s1600/nes-kitkatchocmintwhirl2.jpg" height="142" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The other impressive thing to note about this bar is the strong mint scent. It's present as soon as you begin to tear open the foil wrapper. It's sweet and very strong, a lot like <a href="https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTjCc3k9KSR5FLS72HUqqxtoadgeFYRdXrhkw8vzLyPj--VnQ3R" target="_blank">Peppermint Crisp</a> with a touch of toothpaste freshness. This is a scent that will permeate anything and everything, so if you don't finish your bar, seal it tight in a zip-lock bag!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Sc2u5S7UovE/VNXq8RVqYFI/AAAAAAAAD40/f13Dh0F-Ix8/s1600/nes-kitkatchocmintwhirl3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Sc2u5S7UovE/VNXq8RVqYFI/AAAAAAAAD40/f13Dh0F-Ix8/s1600/nes-kitkatchocmintwhirl3.jpg" height="162" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm not sure what Nestle has used to create the mint flavour, but it's strong enough to give a mild tingle on the tongue. Biting into the bar reveals the fresh and crunchy wafers in the centre. The bit of chocolate cream between each layer adds a mild cocoa note to the bite, but it's the mint flavour that's the star here. If you ever wanted that Peppermint Crisp flavour without the shards, this is your bar. Honestly the chocolate doesn't have much presence, and that's okay. It's just enough to bring the flavour back from the edge of toothpaste and into ice cream land. <br />

Nestle Kit Kat Choc Mint Whirl is made in Australia. It contains milk, wheat and soy, and is made on equipment that processes products containing peanuts and tree nuts.Daniellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12604038874152094100noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494475457240928454.post-21134707390676316532015-02-10T09:00:00.000+08:002015-02-10T09:00:03.753+08:00Snickers Limited Edition AlmondHere I am, running behind again! I originally announced the 2014 Snickers limited edition back in June last year (has it really been that long?). Contrary to my note in the Gossip post, Australia has actually seen Snickers Almond on its shelves before - it was released back in <a href="http://au.movember.com/news/2468/they-re-freakin-nuts-about-moustaches/?category=global" target="_blank">2011</a>. Mars and other confectionery companies do like to repeat their most popular limited editions, often as a part of market research that could see the flavour introduced to the regular line-up.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kREy0z7Sawo/VNXqHTJ6axI/AAAAAAAAD4Q/seUmiT7p9rQ/s1600/mars-snickersalmond1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kREy0z7Sawo/VNXqHTJ6axI/AAAAAAAAD4Q/seUmiT7p9rQ/s1600/mars-snickersalmond1.jpg" height="112" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /><a name='more'></a><br />
The cream-coloured wrapper is a rather different to the usual dark brown of the original Snickers (though not so different to the <a href="http://i.imgur.com/F8JQyRP.jpg" target="_blank">2011 wrapper</a>), but the bold blue logo is big enough to immediately identify the brand. Mars have started to introduce the yellow and black caution tape-style 'limited edition' labeling on their LE bars - you'll see it next on the Xtreme Caramel flavour - which gives it quite a masculine feel, fitting in with their target market.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A8oaQLZfuRo/VNXqGrUHiaI/AAAAAAAAD4U/sH5Dqsvd52g/s1600/mars-snickersalmond2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A8oaQLZfuRo/VNXqGrUHiaI/AAAAAAAAD4U/sH5Dqsvd52g/s1600/mars-snickersalmond2.jpg" height="113" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The bar weighs in at 50g, the same as the original. My bar is sadly a bit squashed and leaky, but appears very similar to the original. It feels like a solid, dense bar, and has a strong nutty scent behind the sweet chocolate. The interior looks immediately different; the nougat appears lighter in colour, and the pieces of nut larger.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0BVA-1cv6lg/VNXqHFDYylI/AAAAAAAAD4Y/UXI3I8EMKZQ/s1600/mars-snickersalmond3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0BVA-1cv6lg/VNXqHFDYylI/AAAAAAAAD4Y/UXI3I8EMKZQ/s1600/mars-snickersalmond3.jpg" height="148" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Biting into it immediately releases the toasty almond nut flavour - there's no mistaking this for your original! It's a bar that is absolutely less sweet than the peanut version; the almond seems to counteract the sweetness of the caramel and chocolate. The nougat tastes less sweet too, perhaps with a touch of salt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4qLkTO70A_U/VNXqIbL9TjI/AAAAAAAAD4k/CEM0c82K5Cw/s1600/mars-snickersalmond4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4qLkTO70A_U/VNXqIbL9TjI/AAAAAAAAD4k/CEM0c82K5Cw/s1600/mars-snickersalmond4.jpg" height="192" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Normally I am not a nut person in the slightest, but to me this is what a nut chocolate bar should taste like: the nuts centre stage over everything else. I really enjoyed the lack of sweetness and felt it complemented the nuts beautifully.<br />
<br />

It's not often I get to review a wholly Australian brand. Menz, short for Robern Menz, has manufactured confectionery in Australia since 1892 (though the brand produced other products from as early as 1850) - now that's a pretty impressive record! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Menz actually has quite a wide variety of confectionery products, although their most well-known items would be those from the <a href="http://robernmenz.com.au/product/view/1?cat=4" target="_blank">FruChocs</a> range - little balls of fruit covered in milk or dark chocolate. They also do some very nice choc-covered <a href="http://robernmenz.com.au/product/view/5?cat=11" target="_blank">honeycomb</a> that comes in gigantic bags, even though it is compound and not real chocolate. The Caramel Honeycomb up for review today is rather similar to the choc honeycomb - though of course, with one major difference: the coating.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pSdRkiDzl7k/VNODMkHNFDI/AAAAAAAAD34/P724ArNMeYg/s1600/menz-honeycombcrml2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pSdRkiDzl7k/VNODMkHNFDI/AAAAAAAAD34/P724ArNMeYg/s1600/menz-honeycombcrml2.jpg" height="320" width="303" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Right off the bat, the ingredients list is not shy about labelling the coating as an artificial product; it's called 'caramel compound', which is produced with sugar, palm oil (sustainable), milk solids, emulsifiers, and natural colours and flavours. Props to them for not hiding the make-up of the coating. Appearance-wise, the caramel coating is not the most appealing thing to look at. It's an unappealing creamy beige colour, a little lumpy, and dull in finish. It has a very sweet scent, like caramel topping. There's burnt sugar, for sure, but a lot of sugar poured into it as well, and some milky interest too, rather like a caramel milkshake. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kfC-uTbljhs/VNODMFPDx4I/AAAAAAAAD30/zi9_kPoUij0/s1600/menz-honeycombcrml3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kfC-uTbljhs/VNODMFPDx4I/AAAAAAAAD30/zi9_kPoUij0/s1600/menz-honeycombcrml3.jpg" height="142" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The coating is surprisingly mild in flavour, with just some sugar notes present. Now, the honeycomb is my favourite part: it's crisp with a pleasing almost chalky crunch to it. It's definitely more Violet Crumble- rather than Crunchie-style honeycomb. In terms of flavour it doesn't have a lot; there's sweetness with warmth from the brown sugar, and that's about all. Combined with the caramel coating, it's a mix I didn't expect to work at all, but given the coating doesn't have a whole lot of flavour on its own, it's a pleasant juxtaposition.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

The pieces are huge, a good 5cm square and about 2 or 3cm tall, so a couple of pieces is enough to suffice most sugar cravings. It's a shame the bags don't come in small sizes, however, as even sealed in a zip-lock bag, the honeycomb degrades fairly quickly once opened (or maybe my bag just has a whole in it).</div>

Today is only 33<span class="st">°C</span>, so I can comfortably look at some lollies without it melting in my hands!)<br />
<br />
Way back in August, Nestle's subbrand Wonka released a new flavour of their chocolate block to coincide with their <a href="http://www.sydneyunleashed.com/wonka-golden-ticket/" target="_blank">Golden Ticket promotion</a> they were running at the time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-41tztHmfDyw/VM3WRExzobI/AAAAAAAAD2s/E5Wqn8_3n00/s1600/wonka-mudpuff1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-41tztHmfDyw/VM3WRExzobI/AAAAAAAAD2s/E5Wqn8_3n00/s1600/wonka-mudpuff1.jpg" height="320" width="186" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Like in the novel, the finder of a Golden Ticket in their block of chocolate would win a trip to the chocolate factory. I wasn't lucky enough to find a ticket, but I did spend some time enjoying the detailed, multi-layered packaging promoting the competition.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4n7N49HZelw/VM3WSPWQIOI/AAAAAAAAD28/o4AkZt6NJPg/s1600/wonka-mudpuff2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4n7N49HZelw/VM3WSPWQIOI/AAAAAAAAD28/o4AkZt6NJPg/s1600/wonka-mudpuff2.jpg" height="320" width="184" /></a></div>
<br />
The chocolate itself doesn't immediately spike my interested. Described as 'creamy Wonka milk chocolate, chocolatey fudge, crispy puffs and golden caramel sauce', the combination sounds rather unoriginal, but tasty nonetheless. Crisped rice isn't hugely common here in Australia, so it's always nice to find another confectionery item with them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iciNUSHzjmk/VM3WRqFTQ4I/AAAAAAAAD2w/L4W5nNM4aVM/s1600/wonka-mudpuff2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iciNUSHzjmk/VM3WRqFTQ4I/AAAAAAAAD2w/L4W5nNM4aVM/s1600/wonka-mudpuff2a.jpg" height="119" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The block uses the same mould as that used for Caramel Hat Trick - the first time I've seen Wonka reuse a mould. The little top hats are cute, with some upside down and the others right-side up. The milk chocolate used smells sweet and fresh, with a light milky note. Caramel is the most predominant aroma, its burnt sugar notes sweetened by the chocolate.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-791UzAT2jSA/VM3WTJZM3kI/AAAAAAAAD3E/mzf_Uk9dOHs/s1600/wonka-mudpuff3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-791UzAT2jSA/VM3WTJZM3kI/AAAAAAAAD3E/mzf_Uk9dOHs/s1600/wonka-mudpuff3.jpg" height="176" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Unfortunately the filling is not contained to each piece; the fudge is shared between each square, something to note when storing for further chocolate satisfaction. The dark fudge takes up a considerable amount of space in each square, reaching all corners, while the caramel and rice puffs are constrained to the top hat shape. This keeps the proportions in tight control, however. The fudge is quite dense with a brownie-like flavour. The caramel is sweet, with a few burnt sugar notes but nothing extraordinary. Its presence keeps the fudge from becoming too strong, though. There are only a couple of rice puffs per square, to add a little texture contrast. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cVhIfuTVEDU/VM3WTl7_5-I/AAAAAAAAD3I/Nvu5sc_yYCI/s1600/wonka-mudpuff4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cVhIfuTVEDU/VM3WTl7_5-I/AAAAAAAAD3I/Nvu5sc_yYCI/s1600/wonka-mudpuff4.jpg" height="141" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I was expecting a boring block, but this is really quite nice when I'm in the mood for something sweet. I loved the fudge, and hope to see it make an appearance in other flavours.<br />

Tutti Frutti is an international flavour that has been available overseas for some time, but only made the jump to our island mid-late last year.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ujf5XDhbn1k/VML-LfTpG3I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/HM7xAsc9YCs/s1600/mentos-tuttifruitti1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ujf5XDhbn1k/VML-LfTpG3I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/HM7xAsc9YCs/s1600/mentos-tuttifruitti1.jpg" height="76" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Like a lot of other flavours in the lolly world (blue raspberry, I'm looking at you!), tutti frutti is made up. It's not based off any real fruit; rather, it's a conglomeration of various fruit flavours, usually of the berry kind. When I think of tutti frutti, I think of bubblegum: it's a cheerful, sweet and berry-ish flavour without a lot of depth. So, to me, a tutti frutti Mentos is a fairly reasonable progression for the dragee brand.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KANAXjwLiFk/VML-Lhm3JYI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/_yZSGwklwyE/s1600/mentos-tuttifruitti2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KANAXjwLiFk/VML-Lhm3JYI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/_yZSGwklwyE/s1600/mentos-tuttifruitti2.jpg" height="71" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Dressed in a bright pink wrapper with matching foil, tutti frutti Mentos have an appearance that's much the same as any other Mentos rolls. The illustration on the front of the package just shows two of the Mentos themselves, although they are considerably different in colour. The dragees in the packet are a very soft baby pink. (Put them together with strawberry and raspberry Mentos and I thin you'd have a lot of trouble telling them apart!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7d5tYaGM_rw/VML-LfCJESI/AAAAAAAAAKM/l-pIh8Yh2kQ/s1600/mentos-tuttifruitti3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7d5tYaGM_rw/VML-LfCJESI/AAAAAAAAAKM/l-pIh8Yh2kQ/s1600/mentos-tuttifruitti3.jpg" height="115" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The pieces don't have a real scent to them. The outer shell holds a good amount of flavour; it's strong and sweet with that artificial bubblegum flavour I associate with cheap lollies. Biting into the piece reveals a brighter, bolder version of the flavour; it's strong and I can detect notes of strawberry. I have to stop myself from trying to blow bubbles! The dragee softens quickly with chewing and disintegrates soon after. The flavour is strong even after the piece is finished.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wKz-9NtEKrY/VML-Mq4s1WI/AAAAAAAAAKE/RN2HVzN9y3A/s1600/mentos-tuttifruitti4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wKz-9NtEKrY/VML-Mq4s1WI/AAAAAAAAAKE/RN2HVzN9y3A/s1600/mentos-tuttifruitti4.jpg" height="163" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Although tutti frutti and bubblegum are not flavours I would pick up for myself, they are a fun, playful flavour that's a bit different to the fruit-based varieties Mentos usually produces. It's a good sugary pick-me-up that actually tastes like sugar.<br />
<br />
Score: 4 out of 5 jelly beans.<br />

Cadbury debuted five new block flavours way back in May of last year. I managed to review <a href="http://lollyaddict.blogspot.com/2014/10/cadbury-cherry-ripe-in-block.html" target="_blank">Cherry Ripe</a> and <a href="http://lollyaddict.blogspot.com/2014/07/cadbury-limited-edition-dairy-milk.html" target="_blank">Strawberries and Cream</a>, but the remaining three - Picnic, Crackle and Toffee Crisp were sadly forgotten. Until now! Crackle has made its way to the front of the review pile, so even though this limited edition flavour is no longer available, let's take a look!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UsQmZci43xU/VLyIUz4LqAI/AAAAAAAAD14/zwgPUTk3kkQ/s1600/cad-dmcrackle1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UsQmZci43xU/VLyIUz4LqAI/AAAAAAAAD14/zwgPUTk3kkQ/s1600/cad-dmcrackle1.jpg" height="320" width="147" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Cadbury Crackle is a large 210g block of the classic Dairy Milk milk chocolate, featuring rice crisps spread throughout. Although I understand puffed rice is not uncommon in the States, the only product we have here in Australia that I'm aware of with it is Nestle Crunch. That particular bar has been around for many, many years, so it's a wonder why Cadbury has waited so long to put out its own version.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Cejw9hKgm_k/VLyIVdcMgzI/AAAAAAAAD18/yrgFigdrfg4/s1600/cad-dmcrackle2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Cejw9hKgm_k/VLyIVdcMgzI/AAAAAAAAD18/yrgFigdrfg4/s1600/cad-dmcrackle2.jpg" height="320" width="144" /></a></div>
<br />
While the front of the block appears similar to any other block of Dairy Milk, flipping it over reveals a surface bubbling with rice crisps. It looks like there's a lot of them, but they only take up 11% of the block. The milky, sweet scent of the milk chocolate is not impacted in any way by the rice, though it is not really something that carries a lot of its own scent anyway.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n3McW12gLus/VLyIVrdQKKI/AAAAAAAAD2A/PScPZ9GqO8o/s1600/cad-dmcrackle3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n3McW12gLus/VLyIVrdQKKI/AAAAAAAAD2A/PScPZ9GqO8o/s1600/cad-dmcrackle3.jpg" height="297" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The pieces of puffed rice are light and airy, adding a good, crunchy texture to the chew. They add a little bit of a cereal flavour, just enough to tone down the sweetness of the chocolate. The chocolate is soft, allowing the rice crisps to take centre stage. I do find that the rice tends to stick a little in my teeth.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bBNSjizuKHE/VLyIWRFuTBI/AAAAAAAAD2E/2yNrA1-SQ9U/s1600/cad-dmcrackle4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bBNSjizuKHE/VLyIWRFuTBI/AAAAAAAAD2E/2yNrA1-SQ9U/s1600/cad-dmcrackle4.jpg" height="182" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It's a nice, pleasant bar, not demanding much in the way of attention with its mild flavours.<br />

The German company is known world wide for their huge selection of gummi lollies. They cover everything, from gummi bears to sours and everything in between. The Turtles in this review are fruit flavoured with a jelly centre. The same mould is used for the three different flavours; an adorable little turtle about 3.5cm long, 2.5cm wide and 2cm tall. Each one is sanded with a sour finish, with an opaque aerated base and translucent top, tinted in the flavour colour.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l5rOsRkZdm4/VLTWSkDqqMI/AAAAAAAAAJg/e0wVprUH33A/s1600/haribo-turtles2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l5rOsRkZdm4/VLTWSkDqqMI/AAAAAAAAAJg/e0wVprUH33A/s1600/haribo-turtles2.jpg" height="320" width="261" /></a></div>
<br />
There are three flavours in the bad, although the packaging isn't kind enough to identify them. One is yellow with a green centre, the second is pink with the red centre, and the third a white/peach colour with orange centre. The first, the yellow/green, has a nice, mildly tangy flavour to its sand that complements the lemon flavour of the gummi. It's a little bit tart, but quite pleasant and refreshing. The centre is on the sweet side, and reminds me of apple flavour with its juiciness.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PdGzo7ckAAI/VLTWSoOiiSI/AAAAAAAAAJc/6ACjHQH0gJY/s1600/haribo-turtles3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PdGzo7ckAAI/VLTWSoOiiSI/AAAAAAAAAJc/6ACjHQH0gJY/s1600/haribo-turtles3.jpg" height="215" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The red pieces I think were raspberry, though it might be a stretch - although the notes were jammy and sweet, the tanginess was only coming from the sanding and not the gummi itself. There's a definite medicinal note at the beginning, but it soon fades to the bold and warm jam flavours. The red centre is likely cherry, though it had such a strong medicinal note I could barely taste anything else. This was not a pleasant piece at all.<br />
<br />
The final piece, the orange ones, are much nicer. The gummi has a mild citrus flavour, but I can't place it - it could be orange or tangerine, or something else completely like peach. Either way, the sour sanding complements it nicely. Unfortunately the centre is a bit a average; it's orange, but it's a little sour in a way that does no favours. It tastes a bit old, like overripe fruit.<br />
<br />
Haribo uses lots of fruit and plant concentrates in this product (the ingredients list includes safflower, spirulina, apple, radish, sweet potato, carrot, blackcurrant, hibiscus) as well as other flavours, so it's anyone's guess as to what flavour they were going for in the red and orange pieces. But I think I'll stick with the yellow and green pieces.<br />
<br />

They have branched out somewhat and turned their attention to covered marshmallows, a market that includes very few products. (In 2012, Pascal released a <a href="http://lollyaddict.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/pascall-mallow-bites-choc.html">range of chocolate-covered flavoured marshmallows</a>.) Capricorn seem to have accepted the challenge of expanding the area, and have introduced three new flavours of covered marshmallows. We're taking a first look at the range with Strawberry Pavlova.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-A84QxHcmSmQ/VLTMP4ClqxI/AAAAAAAAAI4/oTI4FrnTM1c/s1600/capricorn-mallowstrawbpav1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-A84QxHcmSmQ/VLTMP4ClqxI/AAAAAAAAAI4/oTI4FrnTM1c/s1600/capricorn-mallowstrawbpav1.jpg" height="320" width="258" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
The important factor to note with Capricorn's Mallow Moments is that they are more than just a covered marshmallow; the coating includes a bit of texture with the addition of lolly pieces related to the flavour. It's kind of like chocolate snowballs, but taken to a whole new level.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LvQtj1GGN2M/VLTMP0VbfFI/AAAAAAAAAI0/Gq-BYINUFE8/s1600/capricorn-mallowstrawbpav2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LvQtj1GGN2M/VLTMP0VbfFI/AAAAAAAAAI0/Gq-BYINUFE8/s1600/capricorn-mallowstrawbpav2.jpg" height="320" width="227" /></a></div>
<br />Strawberry pavlova is a genius flavour idea for this confectionery; the marshmallow is reminiscent of the slightly chewy inner centre that occurs sometimes in meringues. Described as 'strawberry flavoured marshmallow drops smothered in creamy white chocolate, coated with crunchy meringue', the moments sound appetising, and they look it too. The foil bag holds just 130g, but marshmallows are lightweight, so you get a lot of bang for your buck. Each bite is about 3cm wide and about 2.5cm tall, and the white chocolate coating has given the marshmallow a definite 'drop' look, with a lopsided top. The coating is thorough, and each bite is intact. True to the description, each moment has been dusted with crumbs of meringue, and the distribution is quite even across the bag's contents.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i8GUeDn5qTA/VLTMP8kqBsI/AAAAAAAAAI8/DcTZnDOem04/s1600/capricorn-mallowstrawbpav3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i8GUeDn5qTA/VLTMP8kqBsI/AAAAAAAAAI8/DcTZnDOem04/s1600/capricorn-mallowstrawbpav3.jpg" height="120" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
There's very little to give away the strawberry flavour of the centre; the coating has done a good job of sealing it inside. Despite feeling firm to the touch, the coating breaks easily when bitten, revealing an almost-rose-pink centre. The meringue crumbs are sweet and sugary, adding good texture to the soft marshmallow and chocolate coating. The chocolate coating is sweet, but not overpoweringly so. It has very little in terms of actual flavour, though. The marshmallow is smooth and well-aerated, and bouncy and easy to chew. Disappointingly, the strawberry flavour is barely existent. I would not be able to detect the flavour if I was unaware of the label.<br />
<br />

<br />
While it is still a pleasant lolly, the flavour fails in living up to its Strawberry Pavlova flavour. This could have been a ground-shakingly awesome marshmallow; Capricorn just needs to amp up the flavour.<br />

<b>Score: 4 out of 4 jelly beans</b><br />

Capricorn Mallow Moments Strawberry Pavlova is made in Australia. It contains no artificial flavours or colours. It contains wheat, milk, soya and preservative 220 (sulphur dixoide). Five moments are one serve.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08709255635968777903noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494475457240928454.post-90831170251210350912015-01-13T15:14:00.001+08:002015-01-13T15:14:05.944+08:00[Mod Post]: I'm back!Two weeks accidentally turned into four, but I can promise we'll be back to your regular blogging schedule! Thanks for your patience.<br />

I hope all of my readers had a wonderful holiday season, and I wish you all a safe and joyous new year.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08709255635968777903noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494475457240928454.post-90643558985135209862014-12-19T18:34:00.004+08:002014-12-19T18:34:59.988+08:00Gossip: Mentos Cola returns and new Nestle KitKat flavoursJust a couple of new releases to report:<br />
<br />
A previous limited edition Mentos flavour, Cola, has made a return for another period. We only saw it a year or so ago but it's back again. Somehow I missed reviewing it last time, so I will be picking up a roll for analysis soon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
Grape Mix has also become available in a roll (from its debut in the resealable share pack) so this will be reviewed soon, too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
In more exciting news, Nestle has just released images of their new KitKat flavours (plural) to distributors. Choc Mint Whirl and Choc Whirl are two completely new flavours and styles. It appears that the top layer of the finger will have a marbled effect, giving the product its name. So far I have found images of Choc Mint Whirl available across medium and king size bars, and family blocks, but Choc Whirl seems to only be available in the family block. I'm not sure if that's permanent or if it will be released to the other sizes as well.<br />

<br />
Just a note to let you know I'm travelling for the next two weeks and won't be posting any reviews during that time.<br />
<br />
See you in a fortnight!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08709255635968777903noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4494475457240928454.post-47726463866757609962014-11-22T10:30:00.000+08:002014-11-22T10:30:00.104+08:00Cadbury Marvellous Creations Limited Edition 2 x StarsBelieve it or not, I've actually reached the last Marvellous Creations product in my review basket - at least until Cadbury puts out another round of flavours! Let's take a look at newcomer Stars.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jWpYCYovRk8/VGxJt_HVUcI/AAAAAAAAAH4/ajzun3UL-p4/s1600/cad-mcstar1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jWpYCYovRk8/VGxJt_HVUcI/AAAAAAAAAH4/ajzun3UL-p4/s1600/cad-mcstar1.jpg" height="320" width="285" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
Different from anything else we've seen so far from the Marvellous Creations range, Stars is a bit of a black sheet. The 26g bag is labelled 'Limited Edition', the first we've seen this explicit phrasing used in the range. Its contents is '2 x Stars' - a not very eloquent name, given so far we've seen 'Jelly Zingers', 'Jelly Popping Candy' and the like. And the packaging is different, too - a thin plastic bag verses the foil plastic seen on the blocks and bars.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fPv8ps-6jHQ/VGxJtos3L0I/AAAAAAAAAHw/ZEAjcFa36C4/s1600/cad-mcstar2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fPv8ps-6jHQ/VGxJtos3L0I/AAAAAAAAAHw/ZEAjcFa36C4/s1600/cad-mcstar2.jpg" height="320" width="280" /></a></div>
<br />
Described as being 'filled with caramel, raspberry and mint chips', the chocolate stars don't even contain a complimentary flavour combination. I hope I'm not going to be let down by the last MC product! But it seems that way; when I pulled the stars out the bag, it was obvious they had been jostled around during shipment, and not gently. At least they were unbroken.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LDKoocm-Dbk/VGxJt7UJZzI/AAAAAAAAAH0/qZTNGADw4VE/s1600/cad-mcstar3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LDKoocm-Dbk/VGxJt7UJZzI/AAAAAAAAAH0/qZTNGADw4VE/s1600/cad-mcstar3.jpg" height="225" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The stars have the typical Cadbury Dairy Milk sweet, milky scent, influenced by lots of other notes. I picked up caramel and mint fairly easily - not a nice combination - but couldn't smell any trace of raspberry.The taste is quite strange; mint has had its way with the chocolate, making it a lovely peppermint-flavoured chocolate, a la the milk chocolate in the Peppermint blocks. The chips aren't popping candy like I was sort of expecting; they are just literal chips with a brittle-like consistency. I couldn't find any flavour notes of the raspberry or caramel; the peppermint has done a very good job of claiming the stars as its own!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CD93DXxd5Uc/VGxJu0KZmdI/AAAAAAAAAIE/WGnqTHQYDYk/s1600/cad-mcstar4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CD93DXxd5Uc/VGxJu0KZmdI/AAAAAAAAAIE/WGnqTHQYDYk/s1600/cad-mcstar4.jpg" height="190" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
To their credit, the chips do provide a ice texture; they are sharp and crunch well, but the pieces are tiny and I think I'd like them if they were a little bigger.<br />
<br />
It's an odd combination of flavours that didn't work in the end. Lose the caramel and raspberry chips, Cadbury, and I'll be all over this.<br />
<br />
<b>Score:</b> 3 out of 5 jelly beans.<br />
