To wrap up my reviews of the Lindt 'HELLO My Name Is' range, let's take a look at the Crunchy Nougat 39g bar.
Head after the jump for more!
Crunchy Nougat is a fairly simple bar - it's a centre of nougat dotted with nut brittle and wafer pieces, and covered in milk chocolate. Like the other HELLO bars, the design is long and narrow, with a cute, feminine designs moulded in the top.
The chocolate is a warm red-tinted brown with a semi-gloss finish. It smells sweet, with a touch of caramel. Like all Lindt chocolate, it is as smooth and silk with an easy melt, and rich flavour.
Although the nut brittle only takes up 3% of the bar, it's a noticable presence, adding a somewhat gritty texture to the nougat and a bit of treenut flavour. The wafer pieces make for a light crunch, and add a somewhat shortbread flavour to the nougat. Neither the nut brittle or the wafer pieces appear to be visible in the nougat, but you can definitely feel that they are there. The nougat itself is a bit interesting. While I'm by no means an expert, my experience with nougat is that it is quite firm and dense. The nougat in this bar is soft and light, so much so that it is more like whipped chocolate.
Unfortunately this bar did not do much for me. I found the tiny nut pieces off-putting (and they kept getting stuck in my teeth).
Score: 2 out of 5 jelly beans.
Lindt HELLO Crunchy Nougat contains milk, hazelnuts, barley and soy. It may contain traces of almonds.
